Post-Birtherism refers to the mainstream Republican strategy of exploiting ambiguity by not rejecting birtherism outright but instead joking anout it by keeping the issue alive for the extremist fringe while at the same time shielding themselves from accusations of conspiracism. Thus a form of moral cowardice.
