Tracker, a.k.a. Political Tracker, a.k.a. Video Tracker, refers to an election campaign staffer who dogs the heels of an opponent in the hope of capturing on video comments interpreted as a gaffe, hopefully of career ending proportions.

The tracker may even provike the intended gaffe. Republican U.S. Senator George Allen was recorded publicly describign an Indian-American Democratic tracker a "macaca," a racial epithet unknown to most Americans but enough to damage his reelection bid.
