April 8: Man shoots 4, including himself, killing 1, at the Kkottongnae Brothers and Sisters of Jesus Retreat Camp, in Temecula southeast of Los Angeles.

March 8: Man armed with a .45 caliber handgun shoots dead Rev. Fred Winters of First Baptist Church in Maryville, Ill. at 8:15 a.m. local time. When the gun then jams, the assailant then attempts to stab himself with a knife before being taken into custody by members of the church.

March 2: 50 year old Sherrod Dixon is wanted for the 8:00 a.m. shooting death of a 55 year old security guard at the Holy Temple Church in the Bronx, New York.
