Ahmad Kamal was an Islamist involved in the institutionalization of Islam in post-war Federal Republic of Germany. Born Cimarron Hathaway in February 2, 1914 in the Denver suburb of Arvada, the peculiar Kamal created an identity as a Central Asian Muslim as part of a career that included work as an anti-communist Islamist activist, author and freelance intelligence agent.
